Often working with foraged, recycled, and naturally-dyed paper and fiber, I am interested in how the spirit of an artwork is shaped by the life and history of its origins and materiality. In an increasingly automated age, I am drawn to craft methodologies that require direct deliberation and reciprocity for the transformation of our environments. Influenced by the ecological ethos of Hawaiʻi, where I was raised among farming communities, my artwork explores our complex relationship to the natural world, examining, with both reverence and disdain, the forces that obscure our divine interconnection and interdependence as stewards of the Earth.
I currently live in San Francisco, where I earned my BFA in Print Media from the California College of Arts, and work as an editorial associate for ArtBae, among my role as a children’s educator.
